Lynley Dodd's main animals that she writes about are cats and dogs.
She usually writes stories with settings in the neighborhood .eg. around the town or down by the river.
The main problems in her stories are simple and fun. Normally her stories have happy endings.
She is New Zealand's best known author and is the author of Hairy Mclary books. She has sold over 5 million copies world-wide. Lynley was born in Rotorua 1941 and went to Iwitahi school,Tauranga College,Elam School of Art and Aukland Teachers College.
The first Hairy Mclary book she wrote was Hairy Mclary from Donaldson's Dairy (1983).
She won the Margaret Mahy Award in 2oo2.
I recommend her books for kids aged 4 to 8 years old.
